This is the story of the 5 au pair sisters.
Thamilis, Thamara, Thainara, Thais, and Thalita Nascimento were raised in the small town of Presidente Epitácio in Eastern Brazil. The Nascimento sisters came from a close-knit family with strong values and their parents encouraged them to take the leap and become au pairs.
“My mom and my dad – they always fought for us to be better in life. My father, he knows that the au pair program’s such a great opportunity for us to grow, have new experiences, learn English, and get back to Brazil and have better opportunities.”
Thamilis is the oldest sister of the five. She decided to join the Thornley family as an au pair in South Carolina and 2 years later, she returned to tell her sisters about her amazing year in the U.S. The second oldest, Thâmara, followed in her footsteps—joining the Drake family In Tennessee to take care of 3 adorable girls and 2 energetic boys.
Then came the twins, Thainara and Thais. They left Brazil together but began their time as au pairs on opposite sides of the U.S.—Thainara in Colorado with the Ferry family and Thais in Virginia with the Bigirwas.
Not long after, Thalita followed, moving to Illinois with the Plowright family in September 2022.
“Thamilis got here six years ago, Thâmara got here about two years ago, me and Thainara seven months ago, and Thalita, she’s here two weeks ago. So, this is just crazy!”
Recently, all 5 sisters finally reunited in Las Vegas after 6 years apart and shared with us why they’re here and what they’ve learned.
