Support all year long

Our au pair program is a unique combination of cultural exchange and childcare. To make the experience as successful as possible, Cultural Care Au Pair provides ongoing support to you and your au pair throughout the year. You receive guidance and information from our main office and field offices and directly from your local childcare coordinator.

Your local childcare coordinator will:

  • Interview your family at home to discuss your needs and expectations and introduce you to the program
  • Conduct a check-in phone call within 48 hours of your au pair’s arrival and an initial orientation with your au pair and family within the first two weeks to ensure everyone is settled and off to a good start
  • Hold monthly meetings to connect your au pair with other au pairs and the community
  • Maintain monthly contact with your family to make sure things are going smoothly
  • Provide advice on local educational opportunities for your au pair
  • Schedule two Host Family Day Conferences per year to connect you with other program families
  • Provide advice and support as needed
  • Act as a liaison between you, your au pair and your Program Director

The Cultural Care Au Pair office will:

  • Provide you with information about the U.S. Department of State regulations and facts about your au pair’s home country
  • Give you invaluable support materials:
    • The Host Family Handbook outlines your responsibilities as a host family and shares insightful tips and tools to help make your upcoming year a success.
    • A Daily Communication Log offers an effective format for you and your au pair to share information with one another.
    • The online Household Handbook allows you to create a set of guidelines to help your au pair become acquainted with your family’s rules, routines and emergency procedures.
  • Send you a monthly newsletter, The Buzz, to keep you informed as a member of our global family
  • Assign a Placement Manager to your family’s account who will personally match your family with potential au pairs and a Program Director to provide customer service assistance throughout the year
  • Provide assistance 24-hours a day in case of emergency
