We've streamlined the application process to be as easy as possible for today's busy family. In general, it takes about 8-10 weeks from the time of application until an overseas au pair can arrive to your home. Here's how it works:
Steps to becoming a host family
- Submit our online host family application
Providing us with details on your family allows us to find the best match for you. Our convenient save-as-you-go feature allows you to complete this application at your leisure. Once your application is complete, your local childcare coordinator will contact you to schedule an in-home interview where she will review the program in more depth with you and your family.
- Find the right au pair for your family
You will be assigned a placement manager who will guide you through the matching process to find the right au pair for your family's needs. Cultural Care Au Pair provides you with three ways to match so you can decide what works best for you. As you match with candidates, you will be able to interview anyone you are interested in. Our team can help coordinate interview calls with anyone you wish to interview.
Once you have decided on your final candidate, both parties will agree on an arrival date and we'll get to work on travel arrangements!
- Prepare for your au pair’s arrival
We'll work with you to answer your questions and help you prepare for this exciting day. We take care of your au pair's travel and visa arrangements, and provide you with the information you need to get organized and ready for a successful start to the program.
