While the children living at Orphanage #63 may lack luxuries many of us take for granted, one thing they have plenty of is creativity and spirit. Staff members and LCCs who have visited with the children are quick to discover their passion for the arts: the playroom in Orphanage #63 is filled with paintings, beaded sculptures, and traditional folk crafts. And, instead of spending time in front of the television, our Russian friends prefer to make picture collages and write poems.
Therefore, when we considered what kind of artwork we wanted to feature on our cards, it made perfect sense to ask our budding Picassos in Russia for some help. The only challenge? To choose just four masterpieces to use for the front of our holiday cards!
