Our au pair agency

When you become a host family with Cultural Care, you’re choosing the largest and most experienced au pair network in the world. As an official sponsor of the U.S. State Department-regulated au pair program for over 30 years, we have placed more than 145,000 au pairs in the homes of American host families, creating memories and cross-cultural connections that last a lifetime.

What makes us the best au pair agency?

Cultural Care offers the following unique benefits:

The largest and most experienced au pair agency

We are the largest au pair agency in the country, with over 30 years of experience. We have the most au pair candidates, and every one of our au pairs were screened directly by Cultural Care.

An extensive training program

By the time your au pair arrives to your home, they will have received specialized training on topics ranging from household safety to child development and cross-cultural communication. They will also receive training from the American Heart association in CPR/AED and First Aid.

Dedicated matching support

While other agencies are more hands-off when it comes to matching, we provide all of our families with support from a dedicated Matching Specialist, in addition to our customizable online matching tools.

Year-round program support

Every host family on our program has a dedicated support team—including a Local Childcare Consultant (LCC) located within their community, as well as an Account Manager, Matching Specialist, and Customer Relations Manager.

A commitment to giving back

Cultural Care brings together our program participants and worldwide staff through Cultural Care Kids First Foundation. The mission of Kids First is to enrich the lives of children in need by supporting education, culture and recreation programs both in the U.S. and in the countries of our au pairs.

Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging

At Cultural Care, our mission is all about cultural exchange and fostering greater understanding, and so our commitment to diversity, equity inclusion and belonging is part of our DNA. We are constantly striving to prevent bias and strengthen inclusivity within all levels of our staff, as well as in our programs, services, language, and marketing.

We are Cultural Care

At Cultural Care Au Pair, our vision is to build a community of global families with the power to change the world through greater understanding. We do this by bringing au pairs into the homes and hearts of American families every day. It’s no surprise that many of our staff members have a personal connection to the au pair program—when you see the program work in your own home, it’s only natural to want to share it with the world. Below are just a few of our staff members who are passionate about au pair childcare and our company.

Anny, Government Relations Specialist and former au pair
Originally from Colombia, Anny was once an au pair with Cultural Care and had extended with her host family in Ohio. She still keeps in touch with her host kids to this day! Anny is able to bring her experience as an au pair to work every day, which allows her to better connect with au pairs and relate to their experiences.
Lauren, Director of Placement and former host child
As a child, Lauren grew up with 14 au pairs from around the world. Because of her experience as a host child, she was inspired to study Anthropology and Globalization at Gettysburg College. In her current role, she enjoys working with host families to promote this unique cultural exchange experience and find each family a great au pair.
Shamieka, Local Childcare Consultant and host mom
Shamieka’s family has hosted au pairs since 2016. She loves that her kids are learning about new cultures and now have a network of “big sisters” in Mexico and Colombia. Shamieka started as Local Childcare Consultant (LCC) in 2018 to help more families learn about our program and to support her local host families and au pairs during their time together.

“Deciding to host an au pair has been the best decision we have made for our children. Cultural Care Au Pair has made this process fun and easy. We are so grateful for their continued help and support.”

— The Rodriguez family

“Cultural Care has far exceeded our expectations of helping us secure an au pair. They have a wonderful pool of candidates and the Cultural Care support team was always a phone call away to help us through the process.”

— The Spedaliere family
